Team Building Days

Are you looking for teambuilding or corporate hospitality with a difference? Why not give your clients a unique and exciting experience at HOTA’s purpose built Survival Training Centre. Strap your team into the Helicopter Underwater Escape Trainer also known as the “Dunker” and let them be submerged in the 4.5m deep training pool or how do you feel about training your staff as a team to launch and operate a ships lifeboat.

Content and duration of Team Building Days are entirely dependent on the requirements of the client however HOTA's knowledgeable, professional instructors have put together an itinerary for a half or full day course that they feel would really put the skills of your group to the test:

Half Day Course: Managing a traditional maritime rowing boat

• Communication – the traditional maritime rowing orders are used to ensure that the team understands one another. Team members will take turns to receive and give orders during the practical exercises
• Practical Team Work – acting as part four person team rowing the boat to maintain a common rhythm, moving the boat in a straight line and in turning manoeuvres. Acting as coxswain giving orders to the rowers to ensure that man oeuvres can be carried out
• Rescue – using the manoeuvring skills learnt during the course, delegates will complete scenarios including recovery of a dummy from the water
• Relation of skills learned and practiced to their own workplace

• Act as a team to launch, recover and manoeuvre a modern ship’s lifeboat. Manoeuvring is carried out under power! Sounds easy but is it?

The group will be supervised throughout their course by HOTA's dedicated Maritime Instructors. Their collective wealth of industry experience will ensure your team have a day to remember in a unique, realistic environment. 

HOTA also hosts regular Charity Dunk Days where delegates are able to undertake the exhilarating experience that is 'The Dunker.'
