Fireground Complex
The Ellis Building Fireground has been purposely built for firefighting for the Offshore Industry and to meet the extended training requirements for the implementation of Maritime Refresher Courses.
Electrical Suites
HOTA's electrical suite offers dedicated practical assessment areas for CompEx Gas, Foundation and Mechanical Courses along with City & Guilds 2394/ 5 Inspection and Testing, PATs Testing and IET 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. Assessments for these are PC based online examinations held in The Cullen Buildings IT Suite.
First Aid and Medical Training Suites
The First Aid lecture rooms are a light and spacious and dedicated to First Aid and Medical Courses. The suite is equipped with a large range of modern medical simulation equipment including computer based advanced life support, training mannequins, a full range of basic life support training and demonstration equipment, and a selection of anatomical models. These are all designed to enhance the student learning experience and contribute to the quality of the training.
Restaurant/Amenities
To complement the delivery of the excellent training and equipment, HOTA is proud to welcome delegates to the newly refurbished 100 seated delegate capacity restaurant. Delegates are provided with a home cooked, good quality lunch which is prepared onsite in the state of art kitchen. Special dietary needs can be catered for in advance. Delegates attending courses can avail themselves of refreshments on arrival, mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
Lecture Rooms
All lecture rooms are equipped with the latest technology including audio visual presentation system.
All lecture rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious and vary in size from small friendly meeting rooms to the largest accommodating up to 32 delegates. All lecture and meeting rooms can be hired out and are an ideal choice for external meetings, conferences etc. Lecture rooms can be configured into a number of styles to suit the occasion including:

- Classroom
- Boardroom
- Reception
Fully fitted with the latest technology including audio visual presentation system and flat screen television.
Board Room & Meeting Room
The Board Room is available for hire, accommodating up to 12 delegates as an ideal seminar & conference suite Facility Hire.
Exhibition Space
The Ellis Building's exhibition space is an incredible versatile facility and has recently been utilised for a number of internal and external events. HOTA recently converted the area with staging and lighting in a specialist course presentation evening. The space has also been hired for external events including a Team Humber Marine Alliance Members seminar and a Working Well Together – HSE Construction Safety Event.
